Unforgiving race weekend for Roman Bilinski in Italy
Tucked away in the rolling hills of Tuscany, the Autodromo del Mugello is one of the more scenic circuits on the FRECA calendar. The action-packed weekend on the 15-corner-track kicked off with two impressive qualifying performances as Roman picked up a P5 and P6 finish in the Saturday sessions.
Comeback kid in Mugello
Going into the first race eyeing a Top Ten finish, he fell only one position short of his goal and crossed the finish line in P11 despite showing great pace. Roman went into the second race with high spirits and good prospects though, targeting a points position again. Unfortunately, as exciting as it is, racing also often can be unforgiving, with the car sustaining front wing damage during an on-track battle. After a quick pitstop, Roman turned his bad luck into a remarkable comeback and finished in P15.
“Overall, Mugello was a step forward for the team and me, so hopefully we can keep that momentum going for the next round this weekend at Paul Ricard! Our qualifying performance was much better but unfortunately, we couldn’t convert it into race pace. Now full focus to the race in Le Castellet.”

One last push ahead
With the summer break coming up after the race weekend at Circuit Paul Ricard, Roman has one last push ahead before its time for some deserved R&R. Looking back at the first half of the season, his performances have been a testament to his skill and resilience, refusing to let challenges deter him and displaying formidable ability to bounce back from setbacks.
On-y-va, on to France!
