WHEN THE GOING GETS TOUGH……
In his first ever competitive race meeting at Knockhill in Scotland it was a weekend of mixed fortunes for Roman.
Following some very fast times in qualifying – he was the second fastest at one stage – his progress was halted when a small stone that got between a brake calliper and disc caused him to crash into a wall.
Not the best start to the weekend but as the saying goes, ‘what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger’. And that was certainly the case with Roman in the first race as he bounced back to achieve a well earned 5th place finish from p9 on the starting grid.
But then things didn’t quite go to plan in the second race and the coming together with another car meant that Roman gained no points and unfortunately was further penalised by having some championship points deducted.
But the third and last race of a very testing weekend saw him return to his impressive form to get a well earned seventh place from p9 on the starting grid.
There’s lots he’ll take away from the weekend and with each new experience the better and hungrier for success Roman will become.
